Your credit score only matters if you want to get new insurance or take on new debt.

Having more credit cards will most likely raise your score, even though it is mostly irrelevant

Yea we may have a mortgage in the future but not too worried. I was concerned about her and actually we got 10 more points(brought her to 810) for signing another card. Be curious what it does with mine. I'm an ex DR fan so in a way i am just building my credit. Crazy though how fast I have been able to get to -almost- 800...I'm about 797 in 1-2 years.

BTW, I checked out Chase Freedom...i guess the bonus wouldn't hurt but I can't imagine us shopping at those department stores for gifts or anything unfortunately. Maybe we will try out the chase freedom unlimited.

What is DR?

BTW, I checked out Chase Freedom...i guess the bonus wouldn't hurt but I can't imagine us shopping at those department stores for gifts or anything unfortunately.
The bonus thing changes quarterly. Check out some of the previous categories to see if it helps ever. One quarter it was 5 pts/$ on restaurants, another quarter gas stations. If not, then no real need to get it. I have it but only use it for the quarterly bonuses and nothing else, so sometimes it doesn't get used for 6-9 months.

I went with the CSP and thanks for recommendations on the next steps...

Were you able to use your wife's referral link for extra points?

DR= dave ramsey.

Yes I did use a link from my wife...doesn't seem to be doing anything yet though.

Hmmm yea I saw the other categories for C. Freedom. Honestly I still don't get it. Like how do you spend 1500 in gas in a quarter? That's $500 a month.....or is it still worth it to people if it's not maxed out?

I looked into the amex platinum. This one has me perplexed too. I guess I see the value of the bonus points...but damn that credit seems tricky to redeem. At first I got excited....and then I realized it's for incidentals...that I never use. I think I'm just concerned about getting to a point where I am spending or valuing things that I normally wouldn't and thus the credit card is winning.
