General Discussion / Cost of Living Portugal, Spain , Italy, .. ?

Hello,

My husband and I would like to retire and move aboard ( with 2 small kids < 5 years) but we are unsure of cost of living in other countries. We have a good amount saved up but I keep thinking I should work a few more years since our income is so high right now (compare to what we would make working elsewhere).
Anyone living in other courtiers (West Europe, East Europe, South America, Ease Asia) willing to share their cost of living with us?

Housing , Health Insurance, Schools, etc.

Can stay in 2 different locations for sure.

We've been to a few of the European cities listed above but looking for something more off the beaten path.

and yes worried that north Europe might be too cold for us.

Honestly at this point options are open to either beach destination or scenic towns in Europe ... we have also considered Japan (direct fights so easy to get to).

Currently located in US. Not worried about traveling with a 3 months old... have traveled with an infant before ( my opinion best time to travel w kids ! before they are mobile)

Looking for more specific recommendations outside of US.
ex)
Name of city or towns in Europe or South America or New Zealand, etc.

Where can I go for 2.5 months October - Dec with a 3 year old and 3 month old?

We would like to stay in one location , rent a house / vacation rental and enjoy the culture, explore our surrounding.
A scenic location that would not require us to rent a car.

Can be cold or warm.
